Native to Central and South America, bell peppers begin green and then ripen to bright red. The unripe green peppers are slightly bitter with a grassy flavor; fully-ripened red peppers are sweet and fruity. Green and red bell peppers pair well with each other, and also with tomato and onion.
Bell peppers are exceptionally rich in immune-supportive vitamin C, along with a variety of other antioxidants such as quercetin, Lutein, capsanthin, and Luteolin which all support aspects of health. They are also loaded with vitamins B6, K1, E, and A, as well as potassium and folate. Sweet red peppers pack the most nutrition with almost eleven times more beta-carotene and one-and-a-half times more vitamin C(1).
We supply three varieties of dehydrated peppers: air-dried green, red, and field run, which is a colorful mix of red and green. All varieties of dried peppers are available in several cuts and can be added to virtually any savory dish. Add them as an ingredient in soups, dips, “just add egg” products, vegan nacho cheese and seasoning, plant-based sausages, and more. Bell peppers also make a healthy addition to dog food and provide furry friends with the same nutritional support as humans(2).

- Dehydrated Bell Pepper is prepared from fresh, mature sweet red and green bell peppers that have been washed, cored, trimmed, diced, dried, and finished processed.
- This product complies with current Good Manufacturing Practice in Manufacturing, Packaging, and Holding Human Food (21 CFR 117), and with the Code of Hygiene Practice for Dehydrated Fruits and Vegetables (CAC/RCP-5-1971, Rev. 2-1985), General Principles of Food Hygiene (CAC/RCP1969, Rev 2-1985).
- Product shall be free of ferrous and non-ferrous metal >1.0mm, 300 series stainless steel >1.5mm. Practically free of extraneous vegetable matter and other foreign material based on processing capabilities.
- Product is Kosher.
Color (Red): Orange-red to dark red.
Color (Green): Bright green to dark green.
Color (Field Run): Red and green pieces mixed
Note: Due to the nature of the product, red vs. green ratios vary.
Storage:
- Recommended storage is in a cool dry area.
- Shelf life under normal conditions is 24 months.
