Dried Cranberries

Colorful, Flavorful Superfood – Grown in the U.S.

The bright red cranberry originated in North America, primarily in the Northeast of what is now the United States. Native Americans added sugar and other ingredients to cranberries to create a sweet-tart sauce that they served with meat, much like the cranberry sauce that remains a staple for the American holiday, Thanksgiving.

Unsweetened, cranberries are overwhelmingly sour. Adding sugar brings out their berry flavor while preserving their fresh zingy tartness. Today, cranberries are often dried, sweetened, and used to add color and flavor to a variety of dishes from salads to cereals. Dried cranberries pair well with apples, orange peel, and celery.

Cranberries are considered a superfood due to their high content of nutrients and antioxidants. Studies have shown that they may support urinary tract, cellular, cardiovascular, and immune health.(1)

BCFoods offers sliced low-moisture air-dried cranberries that can be added to a variety of applications. Possibilities include salad toppers, stuffing mixes, granola bars, baked goods and mixes, cereals, and chocolate.
