Green beans have been cultivated in Central and South America for thousands of years. In 1492, they were introduced to the Mediterranean region. Today, they are a staple worldwide and are commonly found in stir-fries, casseroles, and soups. Earthy with a hint of sweetness, green beans pair well with onions, garlic, and carrots.
Green beans are high in protein and full of antioxidants, including flavanols, quercetin, kaemferol, and immune-supporting vitamin C. Additionally, the popular legume may support heart, gut, cellular, bone, eye, and pregnancy health.(1) Green beans are also highly nutritious for our furry friends, including dogs, cats, rabbits, and other pets.
Possible applications for dried green beans from BCFoods include instant noodles, dry soup mixes, Instant Pot ready meals, and wet or dry pet food.
Ask your sales rep for available cuts and about the availability of freeze-dried green beans.
