Dried Leek

Subtle Sweet Onion Flavor • Prebiotic Health Benefits

Leeks may have originated in the Eastern Mediterranean, the Middle East, or North Africa. They have been cultivated in these regions and Europe for thousands of years. Today, they can be found in cuisines worldwide. Leeks have a mild, slightly sweet, onion-like flavor that adds a subtle touch to applications with overpowering other flavors. They pair well with cabbage, thyme, and lemon.

Leeks are part of the allium family along with onions and garlic and carry many of the same nutritious qualities. Leeks are especially rich in a flavonoid called kaempferol, as well as vitamin K, carotenoids, manganese, copper, folate, iron, immune-supporting vitamin C, and B6. They are recognized for being supporting a healthy inflammatory response, and may also support metabolic, cellular, bone, and vision health.(1)

Our air-dried leeks can add a subtle-sweet onion flavor to any savory application, including dips and dry dip mixes, instant noodles and udon seasoning packets, bouillon cubes, frozen appetizers, Instant Pot ready meals, soup, dry soup mixes, and seasoning blends.
