Dried Lucuma Powder

Superfood  •  Natural Sweetener  •  Low Glycemic Index  •  Rich & Creamy

The delicious lucuma is a fruit that grows only in South America, primarily in Peru. Its rich, sweet, butterscotch-like flavor and creamy texture make it ideal for applications that are low sugar, low calorie, dairy-free, vegan, or plant-based. It’s also a wonderful alternative to brown sugar, as it has a similar taste. In Peru, it is often used in ice cream and smoothies. This trend is finding popularity in the U.S., Europe, and Australia as well. Lucuma pairs well with apples and lemon peel.

High in antioxidants and dietary fiber while low in sugar, lucuma is gaining popularity as a superfood. The fruit is also a great source of potassium, riboflavin, and niacin. It may benefit blood sugar levels, cellular, heart, digestive, and metabolic health.(1)

BCFoods offers lucuma powder that can be added to a variety of applications. Possibilities include chocolate bars, smoothie powder mixes, energy bars, hot or cold cereal, nut spreads, ice cream and frozen desserts (including dairy-free), baked goods and mixes.
