Related to carrots, parsnips are a root vegetable native to Eurasia and have been cultivated domestically throughout history. They have a sweet taste and hearty, starchy texture similar to carrots but with a nutty undertone. Before the introduction of cane sugar, parsnips were used as a sweetener in Europe. Parsnips pair well with carrots, apples, and parsley.
Parsnips are prebiotics and are high in immune-supporting vitamin C, fiber, and potassium. Studies show they may support immune, digestive, metabolic, and cardiovascular health.(1)
Parsnips are also nutritious for canine health and may help support a dog’s healthy metabolism, nervous system, kidney function, and cellular health.(2)
Our air-dried parsnip dices and powder can add a subtle, sweet flavor and act as a starchy filler in a variety of applications, including crackers and snacks, soup and dry soup mixes, bouillon cubes, dips and spreads, and Instant Pot ready meals. They’re also a popular ingredient in dog food, treats, and toppers.
- Dehydrated Parsnip is prepared from fresh parsnip which have been washed, peeled, cut, dried, and finish processed.
- This product complies with current Good Manufacturing Practice in Manufacturing, Packaging, and Holding Human Food (21 CFR 117), and with the Code of Hygiene Practice for Dehydrated Fruits and Vegetables (CAC/RCP-5-1971, Rev. 2-1985), General Principles of Food Hygiene (CAC/RCP1969, Rev 2-1985).
- Product shall be free of ferrous and non-ferrous metal >1.0mm, 300 series stainless steel >1.5mm. Practically free of extraneous vegetable matter and other foreign material based on processing capabilities.
- Product is Kosher.
Color: Creamy white to yellowish white
Storage:
- Recommended storage is in a cool dry area.
- Shelf life under normal conditions is 24 months.
