Native to western South and Central America, tomatoes offer a balance of savory and sweet. They are also one of the best sources of plant-based umami, a taste that the brain often associates with meat, making it highly sought-after for meat replacement products. Drying tomatoes intensifies their tangy flavor and increases the umami. Tomatoes pair well with chili peppers, onion, and garlic.
Tomatoes are an excellent source of the antioxidant Lycopene, which may support cellular, heart, lung, oral, and skin health. Studies show that tomatoes may also support a healthy inflammatory response and immune, eye, and digestive health.(1) Tomatoes are also a popular ingredient for dog and cat food, as our furry friends can benefit from the same nutritional qualities that make them a healthy ingredient for humans.(2)
Our air-dried and spray-dried tomato can be used in a variety of applications, including dips, dry pasta, instant soups, Instant Pot ready meals, chips, crackers, seasonings, rubs, tortillas, and wraps. Tomato is also popular in dry dog food, treats, and toppers. It can also be used as a natural, clean-label food color.

We are proud to offer a sustainable option for the majority of our products, including tomato, where we have contracted with farmers growing fresh tomato for dehydration who have been awarded third-party certification for sustainable agriculture. We use the latest technology, local education, and local partnerships to reduce water use/waste, land erosion, pesticide overuse, soil and groundwater contamination, and biodiversity loss. - Dehydrated Tomato is prepared from fresh, mature ripe tomatoes which have been washed, diced, dried, and finish processed.
- This product complies with current Good Manufacturing Practice in Manufacturing, Packaging, and Holding Human Food (21 CFR 117), and with the Code of Hygiene Practice for Dehydrated Fruits and Vegetables (CAC/RCP-5-1971, Rev. 2-1985), General Principles of Food Hygiene (CAC/RCP1969, Rev 2-1985).
- Product shall be free of ferrous and non-ferrous metal >1.0mm, 300 series stainless steel >1.5mm. Practically free of extraneous vegetable matter and other foreign material based on processing capabilities.
- Product is Kosher.
Color: Orange-red to dark red.
Hydration: Allow 3-5 minutes in boiling water, and 1-2 hours in cold water. Typical re-hydration ratio is about 1:4 (dry: fresh).
Storage:
- Recommended storage is in a cool dry area.
- Shelf life under normal conditions is 24 months.
