Sustainability
Farming a Better Future.
At BCFoods, sustainability isn’t a trend—it’s a responsibility. As a vertically integrated, industrial-level producer of dehydrated ingredients, we operate on a global scale. That means we have both the opportunity and the obligation to reduce our environmental footprint and support the long-term health of the planet.
Why Sustainability Matters
“Eco-friendly” and “green” are more than marketing buzzwords—they’re commitments. Agriculture is one of the largest contributors to greenhouse gas emissions globally. Our mission is to reverse that impact by applying sustainable practices at every stage of our operations: from the first planting to the final processing.
Sustainability means producing food today without compromising the land, water, and resources future generations will depend on. We believe smart, science-backed practices can benefit both the environment and the food industry.
What Is Sustainable Agriculture?
Sustainable agriculture creates systems that:
- Protect and regenerate soil health
- Conserve and recycle water
- Reduce pollution and emissions
- Promote biodiversity and ecological balance
- Maintain productivity and profitability long-term
We work directly with growers, engineers, processors, and local communities to implement these principles across our farms and facilities.
How BCFoods Is Putting It Into Practice
We’ve launched sustainability projects across our operations—often in regions where environmental action is still emerging. Supported in part by the Knorr Sustainability Partnership Fund, we are proud to lead the way in:
- Soil Quality Restoration
- Water Recycling & Sustainable Irrigation
- Sustainability Education & Local Training
- Carbon-Reduction Energy Initiatives
- Supplier Leadership on Climate Transition (Supplier LOCT)
- Community Partnerships in Rural Areas
Our QA and sourcing teams also measure and manage greenhouse gas emissions, soil impact, and groundwater health across our global footprint—far beyond industry norms.
Project Spotlight
Water Efficiency
Water is one of agriculture’s most precious and overused resources. We’ve introduced wastewater recycling, optimized irrigation techniques, and local water recovery systems at key farm sites to reduce usage and protect supply chains.
Education & Local Impact
Our programs don’t stop at policy—they reach people. We work directly with local teams and growers to provide training on sustainability best practices, resource conservation, and compliance with international standards.
Energy & Emissions
By integrating sustainable energy sources and improving plant efficiency, we are working toward carbon-neutral production goals. We also support our suppliers in making their own climate transitions.
Follow Our Progress
We’re proud to be part of a global food system that’s moving toward accountability, innovation, and real environmental change.
