FOOD QUALITY & SAFETY
Built Into Everything We Do.
At BCFoods, food quality and safety are not checkpoints – they are foundational. As a vertically integrated, industrial-scale producer of dehydrated vegetables, fruits, spices, and seasonings, we maintain hands-on oversight from field to finished ingredient. This approach ensures consistency, traceability, and safety across every product we deliver.
Why Quality & Safety Matter
Food safety is critical at every stage of the supply chain. From raw agricultural inputs to finished ingredients, even small variations can have serious downstream impacts. That’s why BCFoods applies rigorous controls, testing, and verification at each step of production.
Quality, for us, means more than meeting specifications. It means delivering ingredients that perform reliably in formulation, processing, and finished applications – every time.
Our Global Food Safety Standards
BCFoods operates under strict, internationally recognized food safety frameworks that are enforced across our owned facilities, partner farms, and supplier network.
Ensuring globally benchmarked food safety management systems.

Controlled, Verified, and Transparent
Our Quality Assurance and Sourcing teams actively monitor our supply chain through:
On-site inspections of farms and processing facilities
Verification of Good Agricultural Practices (GAP)
HACCP compliance and GMP enforcement
Supplier audits and ongoing performance reviews
This end-to-end visibility allows us to proactively manage risk, maintain consistency, and exceed industry expectations.
Comprehensive Product Testing
Every BCFoods lot undergoes comprehensive testing and is released only with an accompanying Certificate of Analysis. Each lot is tested for APC, yeast and mold, total coliform, E. coli, Staphylococcus aureus, Salmonella, Listeria, and moisture. Additional testing is conducted as required to assess physical, chemical, and microbiological contaminants based on product type or customer requirements.
All BCFoods products are verified to be free from aflatoxins, pathogenic bacteria, illegal pesticides, heavy metals, harmful chemical contamination, illegal dyes, and undeclared allergens.

Advanced In-House Chemical Analysis
To maintain speed, accuracy, and control, BCFoods operates advanced analytical capabilities in-house, including HPLC, mass spectrometry, atomic absorption spectrophotometry, and fluorescence spectroscopy. These systems allow us to test for pesticide residues, heavy metals, mycotoxins, hexane, and Scoville heat units, ensuring precise verification of safety, purity, and performance characteristics.
Infrared Device (IRD) Technology
The Next Evolution in Food Safety
All BCFoods products can undergo Infrared Device (IRD) treatment at our Illinois, U.S. facility.
Infrared is a natural process that uses infrared light – a component of sunlight – to heat food particles from the inside out. This method gently reduces moisture and pathogens without damaging flavor, color, or volatile oils.
Key Benefits & Applications
The IRD process is a natural treatment with no additives, chemicals, or gases and is suitable for organic processing. It meets FSMA Ready-To-Eat guidelines and serves as a validated alternative to irradiation, ETO, PPO, and steam treatments. The gentle process preserves color, flavor, and aroma, while continuous in-house processing enables faster turnaround times. A rotating drum ensures uniform exposure, eliminates dead spots, and allows even fragile or high-oil products to be treated successfully.
Applications include pathogen control, microbial reduction, drying, roasting, and toasting.
