Dried Chives

Add Color & Mild, Sweet Onion-Like Flavor

The use of chives can be traced back 5,000 years, and they’ve been cultivated in Europe since the Middle Ages. They grow wild throughout Asia, the Middle East, and North America. Chives are related to onions and have a mild, slightly sweet onion-like flavor. Chives pair well with parsley and celery.

Nutrient-dense chives can add vitamins K, C, A, and other nutrients to meals. Studies have shown that chives and other allium vegetables may support various aspects of health, such as cellular, mood, brain, and eye health(1).

The air-dried and freeze-dried chives that BCFoods supplies to CPG and food manufacturers can be used in many savory applications, including seasoning blends, salad dressings, cooking sauces, table sauces, soups, instant noodle seasoning packets, instant mashed potatoes, cheese, frozen meals, spreads, and more.
