Native to the Mediterranean region, peas are one of the oldest domesticated crops. Peas have since found their way into soups, stews, stir-fries, and other recipes around the world. They have a sweet, yet savory flavor and add a pop of green color. Peas pair well with carrots, dill, and black pepper
Peas are little-known nutrient powerhouses, containing protein and a high concentration of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and phytonutrients. Studies show peas may benefit eye, digestive, blood sugar, heart, and immune health, along with a healthy inflammatory response.(1)
Peas are a popular ingredient in pet food as well – especially limited ingredient dog and cat food. As they do for humans, peas provide nutrition, carbohydrates, and protein, as well as support the health of our furry friends.(2)
Our air-dried and freeze-dried peas can be used in a variety of applications, including instant noodles, canned or dry soup, Instant Pot ready meals, and instant pasta, as well as wet food and toppers for dogs and cats.
Ask your sales rep about fire-roasted freeze-dried peas from Culinary Farms.
